About Subscribe for Auto-Renewal

On each eligible product page, you’ll see an option to subscribe for auto-renewal.

How it Works:

You choose which coffees you want, and how often. (Choose to automatically renew every 2, 4, 6, or 8 weeks.) After your first coffee subscription order is placed, we’ll prepare and ship it to you right away.

After that, we’ll send you an email letting you know when your subscription is about to renew, your subscription will renew automatically and charge your saved card; we’ll prepare and ship your order to you with no further effort on your part!

Is a Coffee Subscription Right for You?

If you always drink the same coffee, and are pretty consistent about how much coffee you drink, then Subscribe for Auto-Renewal is a great choice for you! Enjoy the convenience of only having to place an order once, and having your coffee arrive without having to remember to re-order.

If you like to try different coffees, or sometimes drink more coffee and sometimes drink less, an auto-renew subscription may not be the right choice for you- you should probably order manually each time you need more coffee.

Discounts

If you purchase coffee with an auto-renew subscription, you will receive a discount of 10% off the eligible coffee in your order.

If you purchase coffee online to be shipped to you (not on a coffee subscription), you will get $1 off per pound if you order 3 pounds or more in the same order. (Learn more about discounts here.)

Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel a subscription for any reason including, but not limited to:

Failed Payment: When a renewal order fails to complete payment successfully for 10 days from the renewal date, the subscription will be automatically cancelled.

On Hold: If a subscription has been placed “on hold” for longer than 60 days, it may be cancelled.

Please remember that you can always create a new subscription at any time, or you can place orders manually if that is a better fit for you!

Managing Your Coffee Subscription

If you already have a coffee subscription, you can manage it right from your customer account.

Please note that any changes to your subscription must be made before your next automatic renewal order. Once your subscription renews, we cannot make changes to your order, including cancelling/refunding that renewal order. Any changes made after the order is placed would impact the next automatic renewal.

Need to skip a renewal order? You can place your coffee subscription “on hold” temporarily.

Once you have navigated to your auto-renew coffee subscription in your customer account, you can click “suspend” to place your subscription on hold.

Please note that subscriptions placed on hold for longer than 60 days may be cancelled.

If your subscription is cancelled, you are welcome to start a new one at any time.

To reactivate a coffee subscription that was previously placed on hold, first navigate to your subscription in your customer account.

If you manually placed the subscription on hold in the past, you can click “reactivate” to turn auto-renewal back on for your subscription.

If your subscription was placed “on hold” due to failed payment, you will need to click the “change payment” button after you choose “reactivate.”

(Please note that subscriptions with failed payments will be cancelled after ten days from the renewal date without successful payment. You are always welcome to start a new subscription at any time.)

When you reactivate a subscription, you will be able to see your next payment date, which is calculated based on your last renewal. This date may be in the future. If you want to reactivate a subscription and need coffee before your next renewal date, you can renew early. (See “Renewing Early” below.)

  1. Log into your customer account
  2. Navigate to the product page for the coffee you would like to add
  3. Choose Shipping, Bag Size, and Grind
  4. Choose “Subscribe for Auto-Renewal” option and Frequency (frequency must match your existing subscription)
  5. Select Check Box at bottom “Add to Existing Subscription?”
  6. Click the “Add to Subscription” button that appears

(Please note that if you would like to make extensive changes to which coffees are in your subscription, you may find it simpler to cancel your existing subscription and start a new one.)

To remove a coffee from your existing coffee subscription, first navigate to your subscription in your customer account.

Then, if you have more than one coffee in your subscription, you will see a little red X symbol to the left of the product description. You can click on this red X to remove a coffee from your subscription.

If you have multiples of a particular coffee (3-1# bags of Sunrise, for example) clicking this red X would remove all 3 bags of Sunrise.

(Please note that if you would like to make extensive changes to which coffees are in your subscription, you may find it simpler to cancel your existing subscription and start a new one.)

If you would like to cancel your subscription, either to start a new one with changes, or so that you can manually place orders one at a time going forward, first navigate to your subscription in your customer account.

Once you can see your subscription details, you will see a “cancel” button. Click this button.

(Please note that we cannot reactivate a cancelled subscription, however you are always welcome to start a new auto-renew subscription at any time!)

To change the frequency of your subscription (your options are every 2, 4, 6, or 8 weeks), navigate to your subscription in your customer account.

There, next to “Frequency” you will be able to see buttons to change your subscription frequency. It will also list your next renewal date if you change your frequency.

Be sure to click the “Update Frequency” button that appears after making your selection to confirm the change.

If you need more coffee right away, you can renew your subscription early! Navigate to your subscription in your customer account and click the “Renew Now” button.

This will take you to the checkout page, where you can confirm payment. We will prepare and ship your order as usual, within a few business days.

You will be able to see the date for your next subscription renewal order on your subscription page where it says “next payment date.” When you renew early, your next payment date will automatically calculate as one renewal period from the date you renew early. (For example: if you had a 4 week subscription, and you renew today, your next renewal would be 4 weeks from today.)

To change the credit card you have on file for your subscription, first navigate to your subscription in your customer account.

Click the “change payment” button.

Follow appropriate steps.

Please note that this will not charge your card at this time or trigger an early renewal of your subscription.

When your subscription is due to renew, it will attempt to charge your payment method on file.

If your payment is not successful for any reason, it will retry the card again in a few days. This process will repeat a few times before the renewal is considered “failed” (and the subscription is cancelled. This occurs ten days after it was due to renew.)

You will receive emails when your payment method for your subscription renewal fails. At this time, you will need to follow the instructions in the email to either update your saved payment method (if your card has expired or been replaced, for example) or you can contact your bank to find out why the payment isn’t going through.

Remember, if your subscription is automatically cancelled due to failed payment, you can always start a new subscription, or order manually each time, if that is more convenient for you!
