All About Shipping

More information about how we handle missing/ delayed packages can be found at this link.

How We Ship

We package coffee for shipping Monday through Friday.

Your order will typically be processed and shipped within 1-2 business days.

(If you receive a shipping confirmation email on a Saturday or Sunday, it just means that your shipping label has been created – please remember that your coffee will not leave the roastery until Monday.)

Your coffee will be shipped either UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail. (Please see below for more details.)

We cannot guarantee delivery times after your order has left our doors. Please utilize the tracking link in your shipping confirmation emails. (Check your junk/ spam folder if you do not see this email in your inbox.)

Please note that if an incorrect shipping address is entered at checkout, we are not responsible for the cost of resending the package to the correct address, and the cost will be charged to you, the customer.

Shipping Rates

While we agree that “Free Shipping” is a great concept, we believe in being more transparent about costs. We feel that it’s more fair to charge you a flat-rate shipping fee based on your location instead of artificially inflating the cost of our coffee to cover the most expensive shipping rates just so we can call shipping “free.”

Depending on which part of the contiguous 48 states you’re in (see map below) your shipping charge will be $7.50 (zone 1), $8.50 (zone 2), $9.50 (zone 3), or $10.50 (zone 4).  This is per order*, so your shipping cost is the same whether you buy one pound or one hundred pounds.

We also ship outside the contiguous United States, but shipping will be calculated. Scroll down to “International/ Alaska/ Hawaii/ US Territories” for more details.

Map of the United States, split into 4 shipping zones.

*For shipping purposes, one shipping address=one order.  If you want your order split to multiple recipients at multiple shipping addresses there will be a shipping charge for each address.

Shipping Methods

We choose the best way to get you your coffee based on the size of your order and shipping rates, so your order may ship USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground.

Please provide us with an address where you can receive packages from both the Postal Service and UPS. If this is not possible for you, read on for some options!

PO Boxes

If you have a PO Box, but can receive UPS shipments at your home address, please provide both addresses in the same block, so that we could potentially ship with either carrier. (example below.)

Jane Coffee-Lover
123 Main Street. PO Box 123
Kingfield, ME 04947

This allows us to select the best shipping method based on the package size required for the amount of coffee you order. (We could ship to either 123 Main Street with UPS or PO Box 123 with the Postal Service in the example address.)

Shipping Preferences

If you prefer one shipping method over another (or require a certain carrier for any reason) you can request “UPS Only” or “USPS Only” when you enter your address.

Simply write your request in the “Company” section of your Shipping Address.

You can also use the “Notes” section in the shopping cart to make your request. We will do our best to accommodate you.

(Note: If you only enter a PO Box as your shipping address, we will only be able to ship your package through the US Postal Service.)

International/ Alaska/ Hawaii/ US Territories

Want to ship outside the contiguous US? We can do that too, but shipping will be actual cost.

If our shipping calculator happens to charge you more than we end up paying for your label, we will refund the difference.

Feel free to contact us with any questions about shipping outside the 48 states.

APO/ FPO/ DPO

If you’re Shipping to Armed Forces Service Members, we can ship APO, FPO and even DPO.

The USPS considers APO & FPO domestic mail, so don’t select whatever country you’re currently stationed in, or shipping to, as your shipping address.

Keep your country “USA” in the shipping address and use Armed Forces America (AA), Armed Forces Europe (AE), or Armed Forces Pacific (AP), whichever is appropriate for your APO/FPO address. That way you’ll get the correct postage rate.

Delayed or Missing Packages

We hope this guide helps you to receive your coffee as quickly as possible.

We typically ship orders within 1-2 business days, but after that, it’s in the hands of the shipping carriers.

If your package is taking longer than usual to arrive, we recommend utilizing the tracking info in your shipping confirmation email (check your junk/ spam folder if you can’t find the email), or log into your customer account and click “orders” to see the status of your most recent order.

We wish we had insider knowledge about the whereabouts of a delayed package, but we only have as much information as is provided by the shipping carrier. We look at the same tracking information you do. If you need further assistance tracking down a delayed package, please contact the shipping carrier first.

If your package is marked “delivered” but isn’t at your house, contact your post office (and your neighbors) first, to see where it might be.

Please note that if an incorrect shipping address is entered at checkout, we are not responsible for the cost of resending the package to the correct address, and the cost will be charged to you, the customer.

More information about how we handle missing and delayed packages can be found here.

It is our top priority that you receive the coffee you paid for. If you’ve tried tracking your package, waiting patiently, contacting your shipping carrier, and your neighbors and you still don’t have your coffee, please contact us.
