Sparky’s Blend was developed by our former co-owner Rob Miller, before his passing in May of 2019. This unique combination of dark coffees will kindle your desire to start each day with your best foot forward.
Carrabassett Coffee Company has made it available to you in memory of Rob Miller (Sparky), as part of a charitable effort to support local organizations. A Maine local, ‘Sparky’ preferred to spend his time outdoors: skiing, biking, and fishing.
Because of his great enjoyment of nature’s offerings, a portion of proceeds from sales of Sparky’s Blend will be donated to organizations which focus on helping kids get out into the fresh-air. For every pound purchased, two dollars of the sale price will be donated, along with two dollars matched by Carrabassett Coffee Company. (That’s a $4 donation per pound!)
This Quarter’s Recipient of the Sparky’s Blend program will be Baker Mountain.
Baker Mountain is a small 501c3 ski area located in Moscow, Maine. Baker Mountain is one of the oldest active ski areas in New England, founded in 1937. The non-profit Baker Mtn. Ski Tow Club was formed in 1959, when the mountain was Incorporated. It’s run entirely by volunteers and through donations. Their mission is to provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for skiing, snowboarding, and other outdoor winter activities for all. They strive to promote education, friendship, sportsmanship, physical activity, and civic responsibility among youth and families in the community. By keeping the cost of their lift tickets low, Baker Mountain hopes to welcome as many families and children as possible to their resort, which still operates with their original T-Bar from the 1970s. We are proud to help support Baker Mountain this quarter with proceeds from Sparky’s Blend.
