Coffee Prices- Going Up?

You may have heard that coffee prices are going up. Unfortunately, it’s true. The global price of Arabica coffee has more than doubled in the past year. 25% of that increase has happened just since the beginning of this year!

Recent weather patterns, impacted by climate change, have caused huge disruptions to coffee agricultural production from Central America to Africa, and beyond. In Brazil, disrupted rainfall is causing droughts. (Brazil is typically the biggest exporter of arabica coffee beans in the world.) In other regions, floods are impacting coffee growing. Add all of that to rising temperatures, and coffee yields are suffering badly this year. This impacts coffee prices.

We don’t know how tariffs may impact coffee prices in the future.

We have always prided ourselves on keeping the price of our coffee relatively low. As the cost of green coffee beans rises due to the shortages, we are forced to respond by increasing our coffee prices by approximately $1 per pound. This change will take effect on April 1.

We appreciate all of you really good coffee drinkers who continue to enjoy our coffee and support our small business.
