Africa
Africa has almost ideal growing conditions for coffee. High elevations, mineral-rich, often volcanic soil, and warm temperatures due to proximity to the equator, are just a few of the factors that lead to the distinctively unique flavor of coffees from Africa. Africa coffees are processed either using the dry (natural) or wet (washed) processes. Each method produces different flavors in your final cup. Natural processed Africas tend to be earthy and fruity. Washed process Africa coffees tend to have a cleaner or crisper taste. We see about a 50/50 split on processing methods with the single origin beans from Africa we use. Which method leads to the best coffee? That’s simply a matter of taste!
